Beginning in the Thai capital of Bangkok with its incredible Grand Palace, this trip takes you up into the hills of the northwestern part of Thailand, with its panoply of different ethnic groups, rivers, elephant training camps and vibrant cities. Your path will wend from Chiang Rai and the infamous Golden Triangle down to Chiang Mai with its wonderful crafts and people over to Mae Hong Son and Pai. Along the way, you will visit Padaung tribes, be an “elephant owner for a day”, go to cooking school, take long tail boats on the Mae Kok, give alms to monks, and even cross over into Myanmar.
NOTE: At the end of the program, should you wish to include time on one of Thailand’s beautiful beaches or do an extension to another country in Southeast Asia, we would be happy to add this to your trip.
