This trans Himalayan safari by jeep takes you from the pleasant hospitable hill town of Manali to the high altitude, windy, harsh desert region of Spiti, Lahaul and Ladakh. The region is located on the India-Tibet border, and shares its geographical and cultural features. The journey takes you over five Himalayan passes, including Kunzum La at 14, 930 feet in Spiti and Tanglang La at 17,000 feet in Ladakh, before reaching Leh. The trip ends with a stay in Kashmir on a houseboat on the lake in Srinigar.
Note that if fighting flares in Kashmir, we will alter the last part of the itinerary to visit Uttarakhand.
