Experience the Culture

Twenty-six percent of Bhutan falls within its nine designated wildlife sanctuaries and Royal Manas National Park is Bhutan’s oldest wildlife park. Recently open to tourists, Manas is an excellent late fall, winter and early spring option in Bhutan. Lodging is simple, but fine for the adventurous. There is also hiking and fishing for those interested.

Beginning in Thimphu with an opportunity to meet wildlife experts involved in a variety of programs and projects, this very unique trip examines both the flora and fauna in different parts of the country, but also examines the relationship between Buddhism and nature. During your time in the country, you will travel from alpine environments down to the jungle, ending in rarely visited Royal Manas National Park, where you can enjoy rafting, hiking and catch and release fishing. The journey ends back in Paro with the almost obligatory hike to Tiger’s Nest before your flight out of the country.
