Yunnan is a beautiful place to visit in the spring, summer, fall and winter. The province has a myriad of ethnic groups and lush, tropical scenery. On this unique view of Yunnan, you begin in Dali, the historic town of the Bai people. After visiting some of the local villages and craftspeople, you head to Lijiang, the home of the Naxi. Here you will wander the old city, enjoy tea-tasting ceremonies, search out migrant birds in the mountains, and listen to a classical music concert. Your journey will end on the Tibetan Plateau with magnificent views of Kawakarpo, one of the three holiest mountains to Tibetan Buddhists, incredible scenery, totally different ethnic communities and a taste of a place the Chinese label Shangrila.

Drive Lijiang via Puji Temple. Visit Black Dragon Pool, Shuhe Old Town. Dinner at Naxi Home and Naxi Concert
- Day 5
Visit Yi Shaman. Afternoon hike in Wenhai Valley. Explore Lijiang Old Town
- Day 6
Drive Zhongdian via Tiger Leaping Gorge. Optional hike to 8.7-mile hike
- Day 7
Visit Dabao Temple. Drive Benzilan. Picnic Lunch. Visit villages and a short hike.
- Day 8
Drive Dongzhulin Monastery. Continue to Meili and visit village. Make prayer flags with a family
- Day 9
Sunrise on Kawakarpo. Prayer flag ceremony. Walk around Feilaisi Viewing Platform
- Day 10
Sunrise on Kawakarpo. Return to Zhongdian via Tangdui Village. Make black pottery bowl. Birdwatching at Napa Lake.

Visit Ganden Songsamlin Monastery. Attend puja ceremony at the monastery. PM visit to Pudacuo National Park and local family. Make butter tea.
- Day 12
Transfer to airport for flight out to Beijing or Kunming and Bangkok
