Although Shanghai today is perhaps the most cosmopolitan of China’s cities, it has an incredible museum and very special sites located in the Old City. You begin with a trip through time and an architectural tour of this dynamic metropolis. From here, you head to a place on few itineraries, Pingyao, one of China’s three best- preserved ancient cities. Moving on, your path leads to Xian, famous for its Terra Cotta Soldiers and Tang Dynasty relics. From Xian, you fly to Dunhuang, located on the Silk Route, to experience the Gobi Desert and explore the art and history of the Mogao Grottoes. You end your journey in Beijing, walking the Great Wall, visiting the Forbidden City and other great sites that are integral to China’s history.

Arrive in Shanghai. Walk around the area. Welcome dinner.
- Day 2
Architectural tour of Shanghai. Shanghai Museum. Optional acrobatic show.
- Day 3
Fly Guilin. Visit Longsheng Rice Terraces and villages by car or 3-hour hike.
- Day 4
Drive Yangshuo. Bicycle or car to visit villages. Bamboo Raft on Yulon River. Cooking class.
- Day 5
Drive Guilin and tour. PM flight to Taiyuan. Drive Pingyao.
- Day 6
Tour Pingyao Ancient town, including Ri Sheng Chang Financial house, Ming and Ching Street Residence. Paper Cutting and Calligraphy.
- Day 7
Transfer to RR Station and catch Bullet Train to Xian. Visit Wall and Muslim Quarter. Dumpling dinner.
- Day 8
Terra Cotta Warriors. Shaanxi Museum.
- Day 9
Fly Dunhuang. Visit Gobi Desert, Echoing Sand Mountain.
- Day 10
Visit Mogao Grottoes, including 2 special caves. PM visit to Dunhuang Museum and village with family visit.
- Day 11
Fly Beijing. Drive Mutianyu and visit Great Wall.
- Day 12
AM visit to Muntianyu Village and Private home in Bohai Township. Drive Beijing. Visit Summer Palace and PM at Wangfujiang Market
- Day 13
Temple of Heaven, Hutongs, Forbidden City. Peking Duck Farewell Dinner.

Free until time to transfer to airport.
