Explore Tribal India

A host of varied tribal markets, extremely varied crafts and textiles, a diverse collection of tribal cultures, not to mention several of India’s most important temples – Odisha has it all.  This unique voyage across one of India’s most diverse states takes you to visit the Langia Saura, tattoo faced Kondh, beaded and shaven-headed Bonda and other groups, along with their vibrant markets.  Near the end, your path takes you to Puri and one of the four cardinal points for Hindus in India, as well as the famous Sun Temple of Konark.  The trip ends in Bhubaneswar and its neighboring Ikat and lost wax villages.

This is a trip through one of India’s most culturally rich states, a trip for the craft lover, who wants to get off the beaten track.

Note: This trip must start on a Sunday with a drive from Vishakhapatnam for Rayagada so that all weekly tribal markets mentioned in the itinerary are covered.
