Trip Overview
Experience & Explore
- Day 1
Arrive in Kathmandu; Arrival time permitting, PM walk down Asan Tol to Dhurbar Square. Welcome dinner at Thamel House.
- Day 2
Tour Swayambunath. Walk or drive to Vajra Hotel for breakfast. Drive to READ office. Return to hotel for short rest. Mid-afternoon visit Bodhanath and thangka store for demonstration. Then on to Pashupati for the evening aarti ceremony.
- Day 3
Explore Patan & Bhaktapur. Visit with the Kumari goddess and lunch at the Patan Museum.
- Day 4
Drive to Arughat Bazaar for lunch. Continue to Sundi Khola and camp near the confluence of the Budi Gandaki and Sundi Khola.
- Day 5
Trek along the Sundi Khola to the Machha Khola (3051 ft. and 8+ hours trekking).
- Day 6
Trek to Laprak Village, shattered in 2015 by the earthquake, and see how rebuilding is progressing. (6890 ft. 6+ hours)
- Day 7
Trek to Barpak (6398 ft.) with excellent views of the Manaslu range. Cultural show
- Day 8
Day to explore village, ruins, interact with people and learn about quake effects.
- Day 9
1-hour trek to road. Drive 4-5 hours to Gorkha. Visit temple and palace.
- Day 10
Drive Kathmandu. Farewell dinner.
- Day 11
Optional Everest Flight. Transfer for your flight back home.
